Fast Food Choices

McDonalds Food Choices
One would think that you can request just a hamburger without the bun and a side salad instead of fries.  But dont!  This would be Phase 3 because of the fat content.  The salads are a great option just make sure that you get the grilled chicken instead of the fried and make sure a no sugar added dressings.  The SBD approved dressings are the light balsamic and the ranch.

**Scrambled eggs
**Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad
**Grilled Chicken Cobb Salad

Burger King

This place also has great Phase 3 burgers without the bun but as far as Phase 1 and Phase 2 Goes you should stick to the Chicken Tender Grill without the bun and no ketchup.  Again, take away the fries and add a side salad.  Burger King has a number of great salads to offer that can be altered with little changes to become acceptable.  These salads are also meal sized so that you wont feel deprived during your fast food treat.

**Chicken Caesar Salad (no croutons) 220 calories, 5 grams carbohydrate, 7 grams fat, 3 grams fiber, 35 grams protein, no trans fat. **Order Chicken Whopper or Chicken Whopper Junior without mayo, then toss the bun.

Arby’s

It isnt easy to find healthy choices at Arby’s at all.  The roast beef sandwich is monderately good but all in all you should stick to the healthy salads and wraps that Arby’s offers today.  The best salad offered is the Martha’s Vineyard salad.  However, do not use the raspberry vinegret dressing offered as for the oil and vinegar instead.  And please..please do not eat the Market Fresh Sandwiches.  Those are look fresh and healthy but it couldnt be further from the truth.  Those sandwiches are worse for you than the almight Arby’s Roast Beef Sandwich.  Here are some other options.

**Market Fresh Martha’s Vineyard Salad

**Santa Fe Salad (No Dressing)

Wendy’s

Again with Wendy’s the burger is also approved but reserved for Phase 3.  You can however enjoy the Ultimate Chicken Grill Sandwich, just toss the bun.  the Mediterranean Chicken salad can be enjoyed completely but use the ranch or caesar dressings sparingly.  Most of the other salads are fine just make sure you toss the bacon bits and the croutons.  You can always enjoy a side of chili with a side salad.

** Ultimate Chicken Grill No Bun

**Garden Sensation Chicken BLT Salad (No Croutons)

**Garden Sensation Chicken Mediterranean Chicken Salad

**Garden Sensation Mandarin Chicken Salad

**Spring Mix (with Cheddar and jack cheese)

**Ceasar Side Salad (No Croutons)

**Side Salad

**Chili(Small, no cheese)

**Fresh Fruit Cup

Taco Bell

The only thing really allowed here is the tacos fresco style without the tortilla, also lose the cheese.  So you can enjoy any of the beef or chicken soft tacos that are offered w/o cheese and order fresco style.  This style will include a really nice chunky salsa.  Also on the approved list is the bean burrito also fresco style without the tortilla.  This item has 56 grams of the right carbs and lots of fiber.  You can also enjoy the pintos and cheese which will work fine on any phase.

**Soft Taco Fresco Style, Beef

** Spicy Chicken Soft Taco

**Bean Burrito Fresco Style

**Pintos and Cheese

Quiznos Sub

This is one of my personal favorites.  The sandwiches and salads from here are wonderful.  You can order a small whole wheat baguette with some of the best fillings: roasted turkey, deli tuna, or roast beef.  Ask the server to provide sauce separately.  You can also try the Roman Chicken Salad from the cravable salads list.  The other large salads are too high in fat and refined carbs to be SBD acceptable.  Side ceasar and garden salads are also avail.

**small whole wheat subs with veggies and turkey or tuna or roast beef.

**Roman Chicken Salad

**Side Caesar or Garden salads
